The highly-trained dogs of Quad Cities Dog Obedience Club (QCDOC) make ideal candidates to volunteer as therapy dogs! Therapy dogs are well-mannered, well-behaved pets whose owners have trained them to provide affection, comfort, and love to people in hospitals, nursing homes, schools, and other places where visitation may be appropriate and where they have been invited.* Therapy dogs should be friendly to people and other dogs and show no aggression or fear.
QCDOC Therapy Dog Team members have all attained certification in Alliance of Therapy Dogs (ATD). ATD is an international registry of certified therapy dog teams with more than 17,000 members. ATD provides testing/evaluation, certification, registration, support, and insurance. QCDOC President Linda Brown is a tester/observer for ATD. To learn more about ATD and how to become a member, visit: www.therapydogs.com
The QCDOC Therapy Dog Team is a group of caring individuals and our special dogs who share smiles and joy with people, young and old alike! We schedule and attend visits in the Quad Cities and surrounding communities. Places we visit include:
